VP4B - Media Player

The VP4B (Video Player for Buses) passenger information and infocommunication system is a unique solution in Hungary. It efficiently combines passenger guidance and advertisement at the same time. Apart from public transport information, it  also provides useful information for the passengers.

Continuous passenger information

• Continuous passenger information is running on the lower quarter of the screen (150 pixels) collaborating with the BUSE system.
• The next 3 stops with the changing possibilities are shown before every stop on the upper three-quarters of the screen (450 pixels).
• The system works simultaneously as advertisement board and passenger information.

Media files

• Protected commercials.
• Random playback of advertisements
• Playback of short, often altering Flash files.
• Setting of the playing time by:
  • Playing zones.
• Refreshing through wireless network.

Several types of vehicles, one system

• The same system can be installed on every type of vehicle.
• System events are logged continuously. The stop turns and the film playbacks are logged with one second accuracy.
• Log files are downloaded automatically through the network and processed.

Web Based User Interface

• The administration of advertisements is done in a web-based graphical interface. With the help of the GUI the administration of the whole system can be done.
• Handles films and orders.
• Divided to days, the coverage of each zone can be viewed on a diagram and by percentage.
• Listing of running films in a given zone of a given day.
• The playback log of each film can be downloaded in pdf format.

Specification

• The system consists of the computers and monitors placed on the vehicles.
• 2-3 monitors per vehicle.
• The maximum distance between the monitors is 5 m.
• The resolution of the LCD monitors is 800x600 pixels.
